Granite is one of the world’s most ideal building materials for many reasons. Taken from deep inside the earth, granite is a volcanic rock formed over the ages with great pressure and heat. It has a visibly crystalline appearance which adds beauty to its other natural attributes, making it suitable for a multitude of uses in both residential and commercial buildings. Granite is extracted from quarries around the world including, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, India and Zimbabwe to name a few.

Cost Less Carpet now has a slab yard at 8 of our 9 locations. We buy direct from the quarries to ensure that you are getting the lowest possible prices! From Exotics to traditional colors, we have the granite, marble and quartz slabs in stock and ready. We also carry slabs with different finishes other than just polished. Leathered, honed, flamed and satin to name a few are available in the latest colors and styles to make your home stand out.

One of the easiest ways to add value to a home is to install granite countertops in your kitchen, stop by a local Cost Less Carpet location and our helpful sales associates can walk you through the process and set you up with an installer that will transform your dreams into a reality. Think granite will cost too much? We have negotiated with fabricators to offer you rates that are far less expensive than regular stores. Combine that with the lowest prices on the best granite and marble slabs and you get a no-brainer, instant value.

Cost Less Carpet carries 3cm and 2cm granite slabs. This is the thickness of the slabs where 2cm is ¾” thick and 3cm is 1 ¼” thick. We have almost exclusively 3cm in our inventories and slab sizes average 6ft tall by 9ft in length.

Just doing a bathroom? Cost Less Carpet carries pre-fab countertops also. These fabulous granite tops are 26”x96” and come polished on 3 of 4 sides. These have to be simply cut to length and the sink holes cut out. This makes doing a bathroom upgrade a snap and for much less $.

Care & Maintenance

Just like those mentioned for natural stone, Slab has the following Do’s and Don’ts:

  • Clean your countertop daily with mild dish detergent and dry with a soft cloth.
  • Clean up spills immediately.
  • Clean up dried foods by letting them soften with a wet sponge or use a spatula. (Do not use metal utensils on your stone).
  • Clean up oily areas with dish soap and a sponge.
  • Use a cutting board, granite and marble can scratch.
  • Seal at least one time per year.

  • Do not kneel, stand, sit or place extremely heavy objects on countertops with overhangs. It isn’t steel and may crack or chip or even break off.
  • Do not use bleach or other abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges or metal utensils.
  • Do not use liquids that may etch or stain your countertop.

This is definitely for the professional. Use only licensed and bonded installers who back up their work. Cost Less Carpet only recommends installers that have a proven track record of excellence.
